All you need is a laptop, a YouTube account, and a talent or business to share with the rest of the world. In this internet heavy age we live in, it’s an undeniable fact that many celebrities we idolize and follow were discovered through viral campaigns. Whether it’s through a blog, video, article, or business opportunity, the word on the street is that these things are worthy of our attention.
As we live in a capitalist society, using this technology can help you accomplish your goals. Is this being selfish? No. In fact, this has leveled the playing field and made it easier for everyone in the world to showcase their wares. I have seen how YouTube has made it possible for a person with specific interests to take center stage. Remember Andy Warhol? He was a visionary who saw far into the future and came up with this staggeringly accurate prediction. In 1968, Warhol said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes.” Never were truer words spoken.
Now, YouTube is home to millions of uploaded videos made by subscribers with different interests coming from all walks of life. It’s the undisputed online video champ. If you want to build your business, this is the place to start.

Before posting a video, figure out what you’re good at. Most people who get their videos passed around often have a talent or product they want to share. Whether it’s a new fishing lure to help you catch the biggest fish in the lake or a new dance move that you think will be the next big craze, you need to represent yourself as an authority. What follows after is simple. The more people see what you do, the more they’ll come back to you for information. Just make sure you regularly update with new videos in your area of expertise while mentioning your site as well. This generates traffic and gives your words and website credibility.
Word of mouth
Spreading the word also helps. In this case, do it virally. Viral videos aren’t usually planned. Most of today’s popular viral videos have captured netizens attention because those who created them were at the proverbial “right place at the right time”. While putting together a hit YouTube video requires a little bit of luck, my best advice is to make one that has the potential to be watched, liked, and circulated to others. Even if you only get a couple of likes, at least it’s more than just having posted the thing without getting any feedback or views at all. It will certainly help if the video you upload has something to do with your business.
Honesty is the best policy
Finally, I cannot stress this enough. Keep it real. Nobody likes a poser, especially someone who can’t hold true to his or her word. People are smart and can spot a hidden agenda a mile away. If you are trying to sell yourself, do it in a way where your credibility is held intact. For instance, if you are trying to promote tips on how to start a home-based business but ultimately wind up selling it, then what’s all the hard work you’ve put in for?
